Christmas 2009

The girls all bundled up for Christmas lights
at the temple. Mallory was proudly wearing
Grandma's homemade beanie and scarf.

Christmas was once again so great!! We
love Christmas and especially spending
time with our great families. We went to
Papa and Grandma Wilson's house for
Christmas Eve and had a great time! Then
we came home to wait for Santa to come.
Santa didn't disappoint and brought Mallory
the scooter she was asking for. I made the
girls dolls and Lilly took to hers right away.
After we did Christmas morning with the
girls, Grandpa and Grandma Nelson came
over along with the rest of my side of the
family. We had a good time just relaxing and
enjoying each others company. I was really
bad at documenting this Christmas so there
aren't very many pictures but there were
great memories!! One for example is: we
decided to make my mom a digital scrapbook
this year so we collected pics and notes
from everyone and made her a book. It was
so great giving it to her. She started to cry right
when she opened the first page because we
were able to scan a few pics of my brother Dave
on the first page. So we all got a little teary
eyed. Needless to say, she loved it!

Mallory also got a little apron and chef's
hat so she could wear it while she helps
mommy cook.

Crazy Girls!!

Halloween 2009

Isn't she the cutest little mermaid ever?!!

This year for Halloween Mallory wanted to
be the Little Mermaid. I found one costume
at the store and bought it but it wasn't
super exciting so I went to Joannes Fabric
store and found this awesome green fabric
perfect for a fin! So I decided to make one
instead. It was really fun making it and Mallory
loved it! Of course we had to complete the
ensemble and spray paint her hair red too!
The only hard part about it was trying not to
be too worried about getting the costume
dirty and letting her join in all the fun.
(for example: bobbing for chocolate donuts)

We had a little party in my sister, Lisa's back
yard and had the BEST time!! We did a little
house of horrors, bobbing for donuts, dancing, etc.
It was really such a blast and of course Mallory
fully enjoyed herself with some of her favorite
things (getting dirty and being with her cousins)

Lilly was our little angel this year
and the cutest little angel too!!
She didn't really know or care too
much about what was going on but
she was a trooper.

We also went to a party at my
friend Tiersa's house and we
pulled together some last minute
costumes. 80's rocker chicks yeah!!!

Our Lilly Girl's First Birthday!!

I cannot believe our little Lilly is already
ONE!!! It is amazing how fast this year went.
Too fast!! It is so awesome seeing my girls
play together and love each other! Lilly comforts
Mallory whenever she is sad and Mallory can
make Lilly laugh like no one else can. We love
you Lilly and we are SO glad you have blessed
our lives with this first short year of yours.

Here's Lilly getting a little help opening

wants to do everything for her little
sister and she has cousins that like to
help take care of her too.

More so I should say 'I'm finished,
Yea!!!!!!!!!' 26.2 miles. So I always
said some day I want to run a marathon,
and that someday came and past. My
friend Tiersa talked me into running
the St. George marathon with her. Now
that it is over I can say that I am really
glad I did it. It wasn't even the actual
marathon that I am glad is over, it is the
getting up at 3:30 in the morning (it still
being hot outside) to run 3+ hours every
week. There were many ups and downs
through the whole thing but for sure
I am happy that I did it. My goal was
to do it in 4 hours and I finished at 3
hours and fifty eight minutes. The
course was crazy. There was probably
not even a couple miles of
flat ground. It was either up or down.
Which surprisingly the down was the
hardest for me. There is just no way to
train for those hills when you live here
and that down is hard on your body. I
don't usually have knee issues but on the
first big down hill which was at mile 3 my
knees started hurting. The whole run
was quite the roller coaster. At some miles
I would be thinking 'this is awesome I feel
like I could run forever' and not even 2
miles later I would be thinking 'why would
anyone actually volunteer to do this to
themselves and pay money for it?!!' The
last two miles were especially emotional. I
would picture my husband and kids yelling
for me as I came in, seeing the finish line and
I would almost get teary eyed. However, the
reality ended up being that these pictures
were reenacted because there were so many
people there and coming into the finish line,
and Cory didn't know what I was wearing
plus he was trying to deal with the girls so
he missed taking pictures of me and missed
cheering for me. I wasn't too mad because
I know that he was pretty bummed about
missing me and there was just a lot going
on. So when we were walking back to our
car I decided to jump back on and get a few
pictures for memory sake. It was a couple
hours after I finished but there were still
people coming in so I couldn't go to
the actual finish line.
So it's done and now the question remains...
check it off the list or do it again? I'm willing
to bet it will be the latter but we shall see.

PRESCHOOL!!!

This is Mallory's first day of preschool!
Ms. Lisa's preschool.

This is Mallory's second first day of
preschool!!

The story behind that is.... well since
before Mallory was even born, I knew
what preschool she would be going to.
Why you say? Because she was going to
go to Ms. Lisa's preschool, aka aunt Lisa,
my sister Lisa, best preschool teacher I
know Lisa, the preschool teacher I felt
completely comfortable sending my baby
off with Lisa. I was so excited about her
getting to go to Lisa's preschool. She has
been running it for 9 years now and I
have seen the whole 9 years and always
planned on her teaching my kids.
However now I send my baby off on a
bus every morning, to a whole school full
of people I don't know and a teacher I
barely know. No don't get me wrong I
am really excited about it now, it's just not
what I planned on. So Mallory has always
been a pretty quiet one. She talked more
to me at home than anywhere else and
hardly said a word to anyone else. So at
just over two years old I got her evaluated
for speech therapy and she didn't qualify.
So I thought everything was good, but just
over two and a half she still wasn't talking
as much as she 'should be' so I called the
Gilbert schools evaluation and of course
the run around shpill they said well we
like to do it closer to their birthday so call
back in about three months, so I did...more
run around garb but she finally got
evaluated and qualified for preschool. I
had really mixed emotions about this. I
was really excited for the therapy but so
sad and scared to send her to school
everyday and put her in other people's care.
I was also really happy that she would
have something to stimulate her everyday
because that girl's mind is sooo active she
has so stay busy all the time, so I knew it
would be good for her. Her new teacher's
name is Ms. Donna and she is super nice.
The bus comes and picks her up everyday
at 8:10 and she is just so excited to get on
that bus. In fact one day we missed the bus
so I had to take her (a whole two minutes
around the corner to the school and she was
not a happy camper). The bus driver and
aide are so super nice too. The first day we
sent her off on the bus, Cory and I stood there
and watched them drive off, her little face so
excited yet apprehensive and unaware
of what was really going on, and the second
we shut the door, I of course cried like a
baby.

This solidifies the fact that she is
definitely not a baby anymore.
She is such a big girl now and it
is scary how fast it went.

Lilly Is Crawling!! Yay!!

We are so excited that Lilly is crawling now!
She is excited to be mobile and be able to
try to follow Mallory around. It took her a
little while to crawl the right way but she
sure did a pretty mean little army crawl for
quite some time.

She's The Big Three!!!

We had a fun little party this year
for Mals. We kept it pretty low key.
There was quite the bunch of kids
here but still low key. We had cake,
opened presents then went swimming.
Mallory had a blast of course. Kids
and swimming, some of her favorite
things. It was pretty dang cute, a
month or two ago I told Mallory when
her birthday was so when anyone
asked her she would say "Audist thirdy
firs" Then a couple weeks before she
just thought that everyone she was
around needed to know when her birth-
day was so she would just randomly
say to people "Mals (she refers to herself
as Mals) ... Mals birtday Audist thirdy firs."

I went experimental with her cake.
The theme was Little Mermaid so
I made her this Ariel coming out of
the water on the rock scene cake. I
didn't test it out beforehand so I just
hoped for the best. I don't think I
quite got the best but I think it turned
out not too shabby. It served it's
purpose.

Parnters In Crime

I leave these two alone in my bathroom for a few
minutes and what happens? My pads become a
new fashion statement! Mallory made hats for
her and her little sister. Oh and emptied the contents
of my drawers onto the floor in the meantime. Oh
the joys of life!! What would we do without them?!!
I love my girls!!!!!!!

2009 Westbrook Reunion

This year for our family reunion, we
went up north to Bear Canyon Lake. It
is so pretty and relaxing (despite the 1
mile hike down and back up a rocky
mountain to get to the lake with two
small children).

This year was Uncle Kim's year to be
in charge and they did such a great job.
They had little different booths where
the kids could earn tickets and then
go to the country store booth and buy
things with their tickets. Mallory and I
helped tie a quilt to earn tickets.

At another booth, some of the girls were
rag tying hair so Mallory got hers done.
It looked so cute and went perfectly with
her camping face. She looked like a little
rag doll. Camping is Mallory's dream.
She loves to get dirty, explore, and have
some freedom. Not to mention spending
the weekend with her cousins. Lilly did
better than expected. She is a really light
sleeper so I was so nervous about the
nights but we got a bigger tent this year
so we had room for a pack-n-play and
a room separator. She did pretty good.
All except for the night that the next camp
over decided to have a what seemed to be
90s heavy metal party and played their
thrasher music until the wee hours of the
morning. I almost marched myself down
there until I remember that I am an almost
30 year old mother of two and they are
most likely a bunch of wasted guys. Not so
much a good idea. So I restrained myself,
but believe me I wanted to give them a piece
of my mind. (I really am a 30 year old mom)

Somebody made herself at home.

It's All About The Panties

Oh how we love our pantie girl!!
This is the outfit Mallory prefers
to wear about 99% of the time, much
to my dismay. I really do try to
keep clothes on her but two minutes
later they are mysteriously missing.
I don't mind too much when we are
just chillin' at home. Most of the
time we don't experience any pantie
incidents anywhere else( besides of
course at aunt Lisa and aunt Kathy's
houses) however, I do have one
funny story to share about Ms. Pantie.
All week in Pintetop everyone was
laughing at how much she was in her
panties and how quickly she would get
her clothes off. This is a very common
occurrence for me so I didn't think it
was too funny but then we were at the
fireworks on the baseball field around
many people, I was video taping Lilly
so innocently playing when I noticed
Mallory rolling around in a blanket.
She is known to entertain herself
interestingly so I start to video tape her.
Her little head pops out and I say "what
are you doing crazy?" Then off comes the
blanket and she has her clothes stripped
off and is once again in her very favorite
outfit.

The Most Amazing Fireworks

What a great way to end a great week!
On the 4th of July, we went in to
Heber (of course, where else?) for the
most amazing firework show ever. Okay,
I might be a tad bit bias since I did grow
up there, but really it is such a fantastic
time had by all. It is so great to see old
friends, enjoy the music, maybe go up and
dance a little Micheal Jackson's Thriller
in front of lots of people, enjoy the cool
weather, and top it off with a spectacular,
canyon surrounded fireworks show. This
year there was an insane amount of people
there. There always are a lot of people
but this year they closed the parking off
because there were too many people. It
is great that so many people come to enjoy,
but I do get more and more sad each year
because with the amount of people that
come, less and less Heber folks come out
to join in the festivities. Which results in
us not being able to see as many old friends,
but we did still see some good ones.

What a wonderful difference 30 degrees makes

We got to spend a week in Pinetop
and what a fantastic, much needed
treat that was. Cory's parents
were so great to let my family use their
cabin. They should definitely take
pleasure in the joy everyone got out of
it. So again a big thank you!!

It was so fun the things we got to do
with having the cool weather and the
option of being outside. In the evening
we played games like Red Rover, and
Red Light- Green Light on the golf
course. We had so much fun until we
had to stop because some of the kids
were getting hurt by the adults in full
speed Red Rover mode. Sorry kids, that
game gets pretty intense.

Bryan and Amy tipped us off on this
wonderful little 'crick' with some
picnic tables close to the cabin. After
finishing up a mean game of croquet, and
waiting out the drizzle, we got together our
picnic, hopped in our cars, stopped at a
little reservation convenient store (which
by the way had a 12 pack of soda for $6.99
warm $7.99 cold; really $1 more for it to be
placed in the fridge instead of just outside it?)
and we were on our way. We ended up first
driving about 5 miles out of the way, but
none of us seemed to mind since the drive
was beautiful and most of the kids got extra
time on their nap. We almost hit a few cows
that were crossing the road, one we really
would have if we didn't have an awesome
passenger seat driver when our driver was
busy taking in the scenery, ha ha. (I won't
mention your name Cory) No, all joking aside
we really had an awesome time. It was so great
to watch the cousins play together. It was
just so simple and beautiful.

I love to just stop and watch this
girl (especially when my memory is
enhanced with a camera) and wonder
what is occurring in her too quick for
me to keep up with mind. She found
two sticks and was getting them wet
and twirling them in her hair. She was
so focused on her task at hand, that
task making me wonder where she
comes up with these things since I not
so often twirl wet sticks in my hair.
She is so creative and curious, it makes
me sometimes wish I had her brain.
She is awesome!!

This little missy had a blowout in her
pants so I improvised and took the
pillow case off the pillow we had in our
car to cover her with. It was a little chilly.

BUBBLES!!!!!!

Grandpa Nelson brought bubbles
for the kids and that being one
of Mallory's favorite things, she
thoroughly enjoyed herself. Kalli
is such a good cousin to Mallory and
always helps her with everything.
Mallory loves, loves, loves her Kalli.

If it involves water you better believe
Mallory will be all about it.
Sheri brought up her blow up pool
and the kids had fun splashing around
in it.

Mallory was attempting to do somersaults
down an air filled slide. It was great
entertainment.

After the kids were all done, Mallory came
and said in the sweetest little voice "tode
mom, towel please"

Just Plain and Simple 'Playing'

I can't even explain the joy at this
moment, but I will try.
The stars just starting to come out,
the cold, clean air, all the kids laughing,
guys playing a what they called 'all star'
game of croquet (aka: not letting any
girls or kids play except Brendon and
Blake which see themselves as adults
now), and watching cousins run around
with not a care in the world while
bonding. The only joy i didn't have
in the moment was trying to take pictures
in the semi-dark without using the flash.
Natural light pictures are indescribably
better. So what I was left with were kinda
dark, kinda blurry pictures but oh well, I
still captured the moment.

California June 2009

This year was the Wilson family reunion
and it was PaPa's year to be in charge.
We got to stay for a week in a beach house
in Newport. It was so much fun!! We have
never stayed right on the beach before
and our first experience was great. We got
to play sand volleyball, ride bikes, swim in
the ocean, play ladder ball, play human
Foosball, and lots of other fun stuff. As you
can see Mallory loves the beach and she
would just lay down and roll around in the
sand. She was loving it. We all had sooo much
fun. Thank you PaPa and grandma Wilson.

This was another great thing we
got to do while we were in Cali.
Cory's cousin has all these pets that
he takes around and does shows so
he came and did a show for all of us.
It was cool. Mallory held everything.
Lilly tried to join in. She would reach
for the animals. I held all the animals
too. The only thing I had a hard time
with was the tarantula. It was really
freaky but also awesome.

We also went to Disneyland while
we were there. We went with just
the immediate family before all the
extended family got there.

I held Mallory on my shoulders
during the parade and while she
was up there she decided to style
my hair. It was funny and she
was loving it.

so often and it was pretty loud.

I took Mallory into the Princess
gift shop at the end of the day and
she picked out these cute dress up
flip flops. She was really happy.

WHAT THE HAIR?!!!!!

So Cory grew out his hair probably
the longest he has since we were dating.
We couldn't agree on how his hair should
be, he wanted it long, I wanted it short,
so this is how we compromised. So totally
awesome right? Ha Ha! I'm kidding but
really how sweet is this mullet. I was
cutting his hair and since i don't really know
how to cut hair (we always say it is the
pull and cut method, I pull it and cut it,
simple as that.) so I started in the back
middle part of his head and worked
my way up and saw something fantastic
occurring. I kept going and as I did I
started chuckling, mind you Cory couldn't
see what was going on, so he kept asking
what was so funny. I finished my
masterpiece and said "K, take a look."
Needless to say, we both got a dang good
laugh. He was a good sport about it too
when I busted out my camera and said
this is definitely blog worthy.

YEAH! Lilly can sit up now. We
are so happy that she can. This
makes life a little easier now that
she can sit and interact with Mallory,
not to mention not being layed on
and rolled over involuntary. I
think Mallory just knows how to
play with her better in this position.

For Memorial Day we did a swim
party at our house with my family.
It was lots of fun. The kids love the
blow up slide and okay maybe
some of the adults too.

I think this day was a little too much
fun because this girl very rarely falls
asleep, especially when people are
over. She just sat down and crashed on
my shoulder.

Wet N' Wild

Mallory and her cousins, Arlo and Waylon
love playing outside but this time was
especially fun. Kathy got out the hose for
Arlo to spray and off came Mallory's clothes
in two seconds. Anything that has to do with
water she is on board. So Arlo starts spraying
Mallory thinking he will get a reaction and
get in trouble. Little did he know Mallory
loved everything about it. It was so funny
to watch him spray her and you could just see
it in his little head thinking 'really you don't
care that I am spraying you right in the head
and face with this cold water, I can really just
do this?'

Waylon wasn't so sure about anything
to do with the water but when he saw
that he could spray Mallory too, he wanted
to join in.

They had so much fun and we were
left with wet panties and some good
memories!

Sisters Sharing Clothes

So do you think Lilly is a little too young
for her older sister to start borrowing
her clothes? Maybe. Well apparently
Mallory didn't think so because we got
Lilly undressed and next thing we know
Mallory comes prancing in so proud of
herself wearing Lilly's outfit. It was rather
hysterical. I know I shouldn't have encouraged
it but i definitely had to get pictures of this
one. I know I have said it before but this
girl keeps life interesting that is for sure.
I love her so much and even though I feel
like ripping out my hair a lot of the time, I
wouldn't change her a bit.

Mallory's Favorite Things #5

Mallory loves, loves, loves her dolls!
Especially her babies. She is such a great
mommy to them. She puts them to bed
in Lilly's crib, gives them bottles, puts them
in Lilly's chair with a bib and a bowl and
spoon. Oh and the funniest is when she
puts them in the corner in time out and tells
them they are in trouble. It is so cute. Another
thing she does is when we are leaving the
house and I say she can't take her baby with
her (because trust me she would take them
with her everywhere if she could) so she
gives her a kiss and tells her she loves her,
and tells her we will be back in a minute.
I absolutely love seeing her with her babies.

Grandma Nelson (my mom) made all these
cute clothes for Mallory's dolls and surprisingly
she leaves them dressed so thank you grandma
for no more naked dolls.

We Did It!!

Mallory is a big girl now, YEAH!! She was
on and off with potty training. She would
choose when she wanted to be potty trained
and when she wanted to wear a diaper, not
to mention when she would try to change
her own poopie diaper. So I decided that
when we got back from our California trip
we were done with diapers. A couple weeks
before we left and while we were gone I
talked to her about it and I would ask her
"Mallory, what happens when we get back
from our trip?"and she would say "No mo bipers"
(Translation: No more diapers). So the day after
we got home I put her in panties and haven't
gone back since. She is doing really good. At first
she had a few accidents but not anymore. I can't
believe our girl is growing up. I'm excited and sad
for a second (until I remember I don't have to
change two poopie bums anymore then I'm just
excited not at all sad.)

Too Many Photo Ops?

So I am starting to wonder if I take too many
photo ops because Mallory is starting to say,
"hode pease, picher pease, or cama pease, see
pease" which if you don't understand toddler
talk she is asking to hold Lilly, for me to take a
picture please or sometimes it is to get the camera
please and to see it please. It is the cutest thing.
I guess she is just really used to me taking pictures
of them.

California---We Love This Place!

DISNEYLAND!!! YEAH!!!!

Disneyland was awesome! First off we
found Mallory a new best friend. I'm not
going to lie, anytime I ever saw a little
kid on a leash I have to say it seemed a
little cruel, but I was way too scared of
losing her (since she is very much a wanderer)
so I decided to get this little backpack. It
is a monkey so we just said the leash was
its tail. Mallory loved it and had no problem
with us holding on to her and it was sooo
awesome that we didn't have to stress the
whole time about where she was or lock
her in the stroller. She loved being able to
walk around on her own. I also told Kathy
about the backpack discovery so she got
them for her boys too. It was so cute, all our
little ones on leashes and I didn't care if people
thought it was sad it sure made Disneyland a
better experience for all of us.

Mallory loves the movie Bugs Life so it
was fun to go to Bugs Land. She had fun
and she really liked the 4D movie. It was
so cute she reached out to try to touch the
butterfly.

Notice the no pants on Lilly, yeah, that
would be because she had a major
blowout. It was so totally awesome except
that it wasn't at all and the timing was the
worst. I knew that she needed her diaper
changed so we grabbed a diaper and wipes,
parked our stroller and went with everyone
else to get in line for the Pirates ride.
However when I took her pants off to get
ready to change her I realized that it was
going to be more than a simple diaper change.
It was all over her pants. So while standing in
line (and you might be saying to yourself 'wow
that's nice and white trash' but what can
you do) with Lisa holding her head and arms,
I changed her. Usually her diapers are a two
wiper, sometimes I can get away with one,
but this one was about a ten wiper. Let's just
say that luckily someone had hand sanitizer.
Needless to say, as a result, Lilly was left
with no pants.
Another thing Mallory really loved is
all the treats that her cousins shared
with her.

Mallory had so much fun with her
cousins and it was so nice the second
day to have older cousins there to help.
Kenny helped so much with Lilly.

Someone was worn out.

One of the best times Cory and I had
there was when we took Mallory on the
Autopia ride. Lisa watched Lilly so we
could both take her which was awesome.
We had a blast. We let Mallory drive. I
know, sounds a little frightening right? She
did so good. Cory pushed the gas pedal
while she made the turns, somewhat, and I
got it all on video tape.

including Mallory and not suprisingly she got

in the water and was loving it. Eventually

the kids that didn't wear swimsuits ended up

getting in the water a little bit so they had to

walk around in wet clothes for a while.

One of the nights we went to the hot tub at the

hotel. The pool was 'heated', or so they say, but

only the crazy people swam in the pool. That

being the older kids and if Mallory had her choice

she would have been in there too but neither Cory

nor I wanted to take her in. She had just as much

fun in the warm tub, I mean hot tub anyway.

Fun At The Cabin

We took a last minute trip to the Wilson cabin
over Valentine's weekend with my family.
We had a lot of fun. We just relaxed and played
in the snow. The highlight of the trip for Mallory
was taking a bath with her cousins. The first
night she took one with Waylon, Arlo and Olivia
and the second night she took one with Hannah,
Kalli and Noah. She LOVED it! She was so crazy
flopping around in the bubbles and going under
the water. Everyone was laughing at her. She
was a riot.

Girls' Lunch

This was another sisters' Friday. We went to

Sweet Cakes for lunch then to one of our favorite

stores called Blossom. It is a little salon/boutique.

It is so cute. Then we walked around and Mallory

saw a dog. She loves dogs so I got her picture

a dog, at least she will have that to look back on.

I went to the mall with my sisters to
get Lilly's ears pierced. It is so sad, and
I feel so bad doing it, but it is so cute
and she will appreciate it when she is
older. She actually did really well. She
only cried for not even a minute and

So Mallory kinda likes to destroy things

and I'm not gonna lie, it worries me just a

little. Now granted this doll was pretty

chincy and not durable by any means

(definitely not Mallory proof) but really

Mallory? It was a little extreme. She

thought it was a wrestling match, and I'm

sure it was a little encouraging for mommy

to pull out the camera and start taking

pictures while laughing. It's just a good

thing that doll didn't have feelings and

I guess it's a good thing she got her

aggression out on the doll, not a human.

Fun At The Park

Every Friday I get together with my sisters,
sister-in-law, and sometimes my mom (when
she can) and hang out. We have so much fun
and Mallory loves being with her cousins.
Sometimes we make our usual crepes for
breakfast and just hang out at some one's
house, but then other times we go to lunch
and try to find something fun to do. This Friday
Lisa's kids had half day at school so we took
lunch to Freestone park and rode the train and
the horsies. It was really fun.

It's A Good Thing We Love You!!

Terrible twos, crazy twos, insane twos... whatever
you want to call them, they have been hanging
around our house lately. Mallory we love you, but
let's just say you haven't been testing my patience
lately, you have been flunking it. Ha, Ha. That was
really corny. Okay, It hasn't been as bad as I'm
making it sound (or has it?) Here's just a few of the
things Mallory has done over the past couple of
weeks: #1-dumped a full trash can in the toilet,
which resulted in me fishing out bobby pins, fishy
crackers, and lots of other stuff. #2-poured baby oil
(that I didn't even know was in Lilly's closet) on the
carpet. #3-squeezed desitin on the carpet. #4-used
a drawer in the kitchen to climb up on the counter and
got in the cupboard that we keep all the medicine in.
#5-climbed in Lilly's crib with Lilly while I was in
another room. #6-As you can see in the pictures,
drew all over herself with markers. Mallory is just a
very busy, and curious girl to say the least. She keeps
our life interesting and we love her!

Blessing Lilly

Lilly's blessing day was great. Cory did such
a good job. I was so bummed because when
Mallory got blessed, someone in our ward
wrote down for us what was said in her blessing
and I was planning on asking someone to write
down Lilly's and I forgot but I do remember that
he blessed her to always have a good relationship
with her Heavenly Father and her parents and
to always be able to come to us with anything.
So Lilly when you are older and are reading this
I hope those things are true. We love you Lilly!

Lovin' The Snow

We went up to the cabin over New Years
and played in the snow. Mallory enjoyed it
more this year. I didn't get to play in it too much
with her because I didn't want to have Lilly out

Christmas morning

This Christmas was awesome like always
spending time with family. We had
Christmas Eve at Amy's(Cory's sister) house.
We had a nice dinner and opened gifts.
Papa and grandma Wilson got Mallory
a dress up box which she loved. On Christmas
morning we opened presents at home then
we went to Lisa's(my sister) house and hung
out the rest of the day. It was such a great
day. We made breakfast, then opened presents.
My mom made Mallory some little clothes for
her baby dolls. She did such a good job, they are
so cute. After presents we watched a video called
Reflections Of Christ. It was really good and
the perfect thing to watch that day. Then we
hung out, made dinner, hung out some more, and
made cookies. It was a really great day. I was
sad that I forgot to take my camera to Lisa's
because I didn't get pictures of the rest of
Christmas day.

This Halloween was a bit bitter-sweet.
It was so fun with Mallory because
she actually somewhat knew what was
going on and was excited about it, but
since I had Lilly the night before, we
didn't get to take her trick-or-treating.
I was pretty sad but Lisa took her and
I know she had a blast with her cousins
so everything worked out. Plus we did
get to take her to the family party and
the ward party so it sufficed.

Sisters Meeting

Needless to say, Mallory and Lilly meeting

for the first time was really emotional for me.

Mallory was a little freaked out because when

she walked in everyone was standing around

watching her, taking pictures and I was in a

hospital bed hooked up to wires and bawling.

She kept looking at me saying "mommy sad?"

It was really sweet, although she was a little

reluctant to come to me. That was hard. It

only lasted for a little while and Cory enjoyed

it because she was choosing him over me for

a change. (She's a mommy's girl.)

She's Here!!!

This is our baby Lilly! We are so happy to have
her here. Labor went very well. We went into
the hospital at 9:30 am and I had her at 5:30pm.
We had a good time visiting in the hospital before
I had her and then when it was time and the doctor
was there I pushed for ten minutes and there she was.
We stayed in the hospital for 24 hours and came
home. We wanted to get home to Mallory even
though she was having fun staying with her cousins
(we probably missed her more than she missed us.)
It was good to get home and start adjusting. Thank
you to Lisa and Tiersa for taking care of Mallory
and to Sheri for posting Lilly's arrival on our blog.

Waiting For The Big Moment

Here it is and here's how the story went: So I

was scheduled to be induced on Wednesday

morning. I didn't get a call on Tuesday night

so I thought things were looking pretty good.

We put Mallory down at my sister, Lisa's house

that night because we had to get up early and go.

So in the morning we got up at 6 am and started

eating breakfast then we got the dreaded call.

The phone rang and I was instantly upset, having

flashbacks of being on the waiting list with Mallory

for six days. So they said all their beds were full

and they would call me when one opened up.

Long story short, we waited all day for the call,

doing some serious walking. The later it got in

the day the more nervous I got because the next

day both of my sisters had to work so the timing

was going to be bad. It got late enough that I

finally decided that even if they called that night

I wasn't going to go in because we put Mallory to

bed and Tiersa talked me into going to volleyball.

Well they ended up calling at 11:15 to tell me to

come in. I didn't answer the phone and I just

called back in the morning. I talked to one lady

and she said I could come in and then 5 minutes

later another lady called back and said they were

actually full so I couldn't come in. Needless to say

I was really irritated. The phone call ended up

waking Mallory up so I took her on a walk to the

park. When we got home I finally got a call back to

come in so we hurried and got ready, dropped

Mallory off at Tiersa's and headed to the hospital.

After all the irritation, the timing actually worked

out very well. Everyone was able to be there and

we had a good time hanging out. This is everyone

that was in the room with us to welcome Lilly. I

love my family so much and thank them for all

the support.

Baby Shower

My friends threw me a baby shower.
AKA: An excuse to get together for
a girls night and some good food. It
was so awesome that they did it, however
I did feel a little guilty since I was having
my second girl and pretty much had
what I needed. It was great though and
I totally appreciated it.

Pregnancy update

So I have about three weeks left. I
can't wait to meet Lilly. We are all
really excited for her to get here.
I had a doctor appointment today
and I got an ultrasound. He did one
to measure her since Mallory was so
big. He was thinking about inducing
early, but she weighed about 6 1/2 lbs.
so he's just going to let me go to my due
date then induce me if I go over. I
thought for sure that she would be bigger
than that. Especially because of how many
times a day I hear "you are so big" and
"when are you due, you look like you're
going to pop" and "are you sure there aren't
two in there". All very encouraging comments.
I guess when you are pregnant, anything is
fair game.

Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas this weekend
with the Wilson crew. It was fun.
Cory's dad goes to an optometry
convention there so we all go for a family
trip. I was a little nervous going because I
really didn't want to go into labor there
and we did a lot of walking, but everything
turned out okay. I got so many stares, walking
around Vegas that pregnant. It was like I was a
freak show. It was pretty funny. We pretty
much just relaxed and hung out. One of the nights
Cory's parents watched the kids and Amy, Bryan,
Heather, Shawn, Terri, Cory and I went
out to dinner. It was nice and the kids
had fun (I don't know how much fun it was
for Cory's parents). Then the next night
we went to one the after parties. We were
all planning on going but we got there and
they wouldn't let kids in because it was a
night club so we were going to go in shifts
but then they said we had to have our IDs
and Terri's was at the hotel so her, grandpa
and grandma, and Amy took the kids to eat
and the rest of us stayed. I felt really bad
having them watch Mallory two nights but
they told me to go so I did. We had a good
time.

We went to lunch and we were
keeping Mallory and Tate
entertained with the napkins.

Waiting For Lilly

Seven Weeks and counting. We are so excited for Lilly to get here. My sister, Lisa took these pictures for us. Mallory wasn't very cooperative, but we still got some good ones. She loves to kiss and rub my belly. She also loves to put her bare belly against my bare belly. It's really cute except for when we are in public and someone mentions Lilly to her because then she wants to lift up my shirt to show it.

Wow! I can't believe another year has gone by. It really does go so fast. We had a fun party for Mallory. We ate dinner, opened presents (which by the way was so fun this year because she was so much more excited about it), ate cake and then went swimming. We have a really big blow up slide that goes into the pool and all the kids love it, especially Mallory. She goes down it by herself and of course isn't scared at all. She was the last kid out of the pool and probably would have stayed in there all night if we would have let her.

Westbrook Family Reunion

We had our annual Westbrook family reunion.
Every year a different member of my mom's
family is in charge of a camp out. Cory and I
haven't been able to go for the last two years
so it was nice to be able to go this year. Since we
haven't been for two years that obviously means
that Mallory has never gone. It was her first time
camping and she loved it. That is definitely her idea
of fun; getting dirty (which she accomplished for sure),
having freedom to run around (with supervision),
and lots of kids to play with. We had a pretty good
time.It was kind of hard for me because our tent is
small and I am pregnant. Enough said. We had a
queen size blow up mattress so it took up the whole
tent. We had just enough room to make Mallory
a little bed right by me and our bags were right
at her feet. So everything I did (changing her diaper,
getting her ready for bed, etc.) was on the blow up
mattress and it was really hard to balance myself.
I felt like I just had to roll myself around. It was
quite awesome. Other than that it was enjoyable.
(well except for the stinky port-a-johns, but that
just comes with camping)

We made tie die shirts for an
activity. They turned out cute
but Mallory's was a little (a lot)
too small.

It got pretty hot during the day so we
drove and found this little creek. The water
was pretty cold but the kids didn't seem
to care. They had fun.

We brought Mallory's little electric
quad. She loves it and especially out
there doing some off roading. Waylon
and Arlo loved it too but Mallory is
really good at sharing so it worked out.

Fourth Of July

We went to Heber for the Fourth of July. We go every year and we love it there. This year we all rented a cabin (all being my whole family). We had so much fun! The cabin was fun and the cousins really liked staying together. Everything went really well, except for a little incident that involved Arlo and Waylon locking themselves in Jake and Kathy's truck, at the lake while it was raining and all of us standing around it for 2 hours trying to get it unlocked. The keys were in the truck with them and we kept trying to get them to push the buttons. Thankfully we got them out. It's a story to remember. Mallory loved the fireworks. She sat on my lap and just stared.

Lovin' The Water

We went to Tucson with the Wilson fam for an
optometry convention that Grandpa Wilson had
to go to. Its kinda sad that the whole family gets
to benefit from him having to go to work but it is
really fun. He does get to hang out a lot too though
so we all have a good time. We stayed at a nice hotel
with a really fun pool. It had a really cool splash
pad area, which the kids loved, and a really cool
slide. Cory and Mallory went down over and over
and Mallory was having a blast. Thank you Grandpa!

Kid N' Mom Trip, California 2008

We love California! We went for our girls trip to
Anaheim. We had such a good time. It was my
sisters Lisa and her kids, and Kathy and her boys,
my mom and my niece Abri. We got two rooms
and shared them so Mallory of course loved it
because she got to stay with her cousins. She
loves being with them. It was so fun to be with
my sisters and my mom. We didn't make any
plans, we just did whatever which is the way we
like it. We didn't do the whole Disneyland thing
(we thought it would be too hard without the
husbands) we just relaxed, went to the beach,
went to the park, walked and drove around
Hollywood, went shopping at Huntington Beach,
went to an aquarium, ate at one of our family
favorites(TK Burger) and went to Downtown
Disney. It was a lot of fun.

Relaxing In Mexico

We went to Mexico with the Wilson fam for Cinco De
Mayo. They have a triathlon there every year and Cory
and Shawn did it this year. I was planning on doing it
too but instead I got pregnant, yeah! We had so much
fun and now I think it is going to become a Wilson
annual trip.
AHH, doesn't that look great?!!

Mallory LOVED the beach. It was so awesome to
watch her. As soon as she saw the water she just
ran and didn't stop running. It was hilarious, she
would run down laughing and screaming until the
wave would come up then turn around and run up
laughing and screaming. I just had to run after
her with the camera hoping to get some good
pictures.

Mallory and Tate had fun together. In the car
they got to watch the Wiggles the WHOLE way
and I got to sit right in the middle,woo hoo!

Mallory and Tate found a good way to
pass time while waiting to see their daddies
in the triathlon.

We went swimming a lot at the hotel pool
which meant no good nap time which also meant
Mallory falling asleep on me everyday in the pool.
It was so sweet. I love getting to hold her while
she is sleeping because that is about the only
time she sits still long enough for me to hold her.

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!

I am sooooo happy! I just found out that I am pregnant. We have been trying for 10 months, but we didn't expect it at all (since we had to do invetro 3 times in order to get Mallory). This time we didn't have to have any help from doctors. We did it the normal way, which is totally awesome considering the other way is a lot of money and a huge emotional roller coaster. I just started using more organic stuff (milk being a huge one), I was running a lot, and I was taking some better vitamins and fish oil. So all that along with, of course, Heavenly Father's plan and prayers being answered, I am now pregnant. I am so glad because we had decided that after a year of trying we were going to go to the fertility doctor again and now we don't have to, YEAH! It was crazy finding out because I thought I was pregnant, but I took a test a few weeks before and it was negative so then I decided to go on strike from pregnancy tests because before I got pregnant with Mallory, I would always be so sure that I was pregnant, take a test, and be very disappointed over and over. So this time after the negative test I decided that was it, I didn't care how sure I was, it was my mind playing tricks on me. Well that lasted about 3 weeks of feeling sick and having other pregnancy symptoms so I took a test. It was just Mallory and me at home so I took the test and waited. I did not want to look at all. I was so nervous. I really didn't want to be sad and disappointed, and in my head I was saying 'okay, if it is negative this time, I am never taking one of these stupid things again'. Well obviously it was positive and I could not believe what I was seeing. Mallory was standing by me and I grabbed her and hugged her and said "We're going to have a baby!" I'm pretty sure she thought I was crazy, but since I was laughing/crying, she was kind of laughing too. It was really cute. So then I went to the dollar store and got a little shirt for Mallory, came home and sewed on the front of it 'Big Sister'.
When Cory got home, she was wearing it and standing right at the door. I had the video camera and he picked her up. He didn't quite get it at first, he said "oh did you get a new shirt?" and I said "yeah what does it say on it?" He read it, then looked at me with a really confused look and said "what is that supposed to mean?" so I showed him the pregnancy test I had hidden behind my back and he said "no way!" It was funny. Then the next day my family was going to the Easter Pageant so I had her wear the shirt there. It was so fun telling my family. Gary saw the shirt and said "is that an announcement for something?" and I said yes and my mom looked at it and grabbed me (almost in a choke hold) and was crying. It was really sweet. Then with Cory's family we told them at Easter dinner. They all came over to our house so I waited until everyone was here and I put Mallory's shirt on and came out. It was so funny, Mallory and I walked out and Terri could tell that something was up so she looked at her shirt and read it out loud. Everyone pretty much caught on but Cory's dad didn't and so they said "dad her shirt says big sister" and he still didn't react so they all said "Julie's pregnant" and then his face lit up and he said "No, Really?!!" It has been so exciting and I am so thankful! The timing is so perfect. Mallory will be 2 yrs. and 3 months when I have the baby. That is perfect.

Easter 2008

We went to the annual Westbrook Easter

party. This was Mallory's first official Easter

egg hunt (last year she was too little). She

had fun but definitely needed help finding

the eggs. Once she found them though, all

she cared about was the candy inside.

Grandma Wilson bought her a beautiful

Easter dress and she looked so cute for

church. I forgot to take pictures before

church though so she was a little messy

after.

We had Easter dinner at our house with

the Wilson side. It turned out pretty nice.

Then after dinner grandpa Wilson did an Easter

egg hunt in the back yard for Mallory and

Tate, and once again Mallory was only interested

in the candy.

Mallory found a new friend! She loves to sit in the sink and look at herself in the mirror. She thinks it is the greatest thing and she thinks she is pretty funny too (so does mommy!) Mallory we love you!

Snow Trip 2008

We have gone to Cory's parent's cabin the last couple of years with my family to play in the snow. We usually go snowboarding while my mom watches all the kids at the cabin and that was the plan this year too, but we didn't end up snowboarding. Instead we just relaxed and played in the snow which was possibly even more fun and this is why:

There is a golf course basically in the back yard of the

cabin and there was a little snow ramp already built

up, but then Lance and Cory got a hold of it and...

(and yes that is my mom, awesome!)

We ALL had such a blast!

Well Mallory, not so much. Actually she went on the sled with Kalli and Hannah (not on the jump, just the hill). She had fun but I think the snow was exhausting for her because she fell asleep while going down the hill. It was so sweet. I carried her in, changed her clothes, and layed her down all without her waking up. She was a pretty tired girl.

New Years 2008

It's 2008! Where does the time go? Seriously, I can't believe its already 2008.
For New Years we went to Cory's parent's cabin in Pinetop with our friends. We played in the snow and played games. On New Years Day, all the husbands went snowboarding. They came home pretty roughed up and tired, but they had fun.

It was fun with Mallory at Christmas this year. She didn't get the whole Santa thing and definitely didn't want to sit on his lap, but he still brought her a baby doll and a stroller and she couldn't have loved that more. She is so in love with babies and watching her with her baby doll is the cutest thing ever. She is going to be such a good mommy someday and hopefully a good big sister soon. We went to the annual Westbrook Christmas party. It was a pajama party and we had a good time. We spent Christmas Eve at Amy and Brian's house. We had a really nice dinner with the Wilson family and opened presents. On Christmas morning we did our little thing at home with Mallory then we went to Lisa's house and spent the rest of the day, in our jammies and comfies with the Rogers side. We love being with our family.

Temple Christmas Lights

Every year we go to see the Christmas lights at the temple with my family. After the temple we go get hot chocolate. It's a fun tradition. Mallory fell asleep in the car on the way there but as soon as we sat down by her cousins she woke up. She had so much fun looking at all the lights and following the kids around.

This is Mallory and Daddies favorite spot, and yes she can actually work the remote. She loves to push the buttons and always manages to hit the channel or power button. It's about the only time she will sit still. She won't sit and watch anything (except occasionally Baby Einstein for 2 minutes) but will sit still to play with the remote.

Thanksgiving 2007

For Thanksgiving this year we had quite the interesting mix. We had our thanksgiving dinner at Hunt's Hideaway, Sheri Rogers' mom's restaurant. She invited the Rogers clan and then I found out that Cory's family wasn't going to do much because there weren't too many of them since Cory and I were going with my family so we invited them to the restaurant too. So It ended up being Judy(Sheri's mom), Katie (Sheri's sister), my mom and Gary, Kelly, Sheri and Olivia, Lisa and her fam, Clay and his fam, Tim and his fam, Cory, me and Mallory, Tom and Anne, Heather Wilson, Shawn, Terri and Tate. It turned out great and was a very good dinner. It was so awesome of Judy to host all those people. Later that night, the full Rogers clan came over to our house for pie and Mallory had so much fun with her cousins like always.

Learning New Things

Mallory has learned how to do a somersault and climb up on a chair. It is the cutest thing, she gets so proud of herself. She is a little dare devil! She'll try anything and if she doesn't get it the first time, she will keep trying until she does. I am definitely going to be putting her in gymnastics when she's old enough.

Mallory just started walking and here are the results. She got too close to the entertainment center and hit her head, of course, right on the sharpest corner of it. She didn't cry for too long. She is the toughest little girl.

This Halloween was fun. Mallory didn't quite understand what it was all about but she still had fun. Surprisingly she kept the hat to her costume on most of the time. She looked so cute. Cory and I got festive this year too and decided to dress up. At our ward party we won a prize for our costumes. We weren't planning on dressing up but our friend, Tiersa talked us into it and let us borrow her costumes.

Friends Trip

Mallory and I took a trip with our friends to St. George, Utah. It was a lot of fun. We all piled in a minivan and it was pretty adventurous. The girls did pretty good in the car, considering it was a 7 hour drive. We stayed at Tiersa's parents' house and mostly just relaxed the whole time. We took the girls to the park, went out to eat, and stayed up late every night (just the moms of course).

I can't believe our girl is one! It has been a life changing year but definitely one of the best years of my life for sure. We are so in love with Mallory. It took so long to get her but it was worth the wait for sure.

Sisters Meeting

Needless to say, Mallory and Lilly meeting for

the first time was very emotional for me.

Mallory was a little freaked out because everyone

was standing around watching her and taking

pictures and I was in a hospital bed hooked up

to wires and bawling. She kept looking at me

saying "mommy sad?" It was really sweet,

although she was really reluctant to come to me.

That was hard. It didn't last for too long though

and Cory really enjoyed it because she was

choosing him over me for a change. (She's a

mommy's girl.
